Need For Speed: The Run is an all new adventure in the Need For Speed World. Not only are you racing for $1 million but you're racing for your life. From crazy cops to rampaging rivals to insane mobsters, this game always keeps you engaged.
Here are some tips to help you through your adventure from the Golden Gate to the Empire State:
1. It's "Burnout meets Need For Speed" as you can take down racers, rivals and cops in this game. Be careful not to hit traffic, as the makers put a little spin on this game. You've got health and the cops really want to put you off for good. Don't go driving wrecklessly, for a head-on collision can permanantly total your car and you lose a life. Oh, and did I mention that you only have three lives per section? Be extremely cautious and do not go hitting traffic, as this will lower your health significantly. When attempting to or taking down an oppoant or cop, try to slam them on the side or smash them into a wall. Be careful when smashing others into a wall, as this will lower your health. Nonetheless, the best thing about takedowns is that you earn Nitrous.
2. Earning nitrous is so easy in this game. All you have to do is perform tricks like slipstreaming, dodging oncoming, taking down others, and doing "heroic" deeds"
3. In some parts of the game, you will have to do somthing "heroic". In this mode, the accelerator becomes "automatic" meaning you don't have to hold down the accelerator button. You may have to perform a:
a. Heroic Dodge: In which you must sucessfully pass through the blockade, or avoid missles and other stuff
b. Heroic jump: In which you must supply enough boost to clear the jump
c. Heroic Brake: In which you must supply enough braking power to prevent your car from going over the cliff
To perform a heroic dodge, you must steer your car away from or towards the obstacle (such as a blockcade). In a blockade situation, you must steer your car towards the open gap without hitting any cop cars. If you hit a cop car while trying to perform the dodge, you'll crash and lose a life.
To perform heroic brakes and jumps, you must fill the meter by pressing the button indicated.
As you go through the adventure, you WILL BE SWITCHING CARS. Don't expect it to be the traditional "Go to the car shop and buy a car and you will have that car for the rest of the game". No. You will have to switch either way. Every car drives differently, but you have nitrous in every single one of them.
In some cases, you will come across speedtrap cameras. Have a good ammount of nitrous and be going at almost or top speed. When the speedtrap camera comes in sight, squeeze the nitrous and pass it as fast as you can. This way, the cops would not see you and you would not have to waste time fending them off.
As you progress through the game, you will pass racers, who are also in the race for $1 million. In each event, try to pass EVERY SINGLE RACER that is in the event. This way, you will not have to stress it at the last second as you get closer to the end of the game.
Well, that's all for now. Good luck and good racing!
