Max Payne 3 tips

This game can be brutal both online and off so I thought we could share some tips for survival. Here's what I've got so far.

Campaign:

• If you play on medium and have never played I suggest using Hard Lock for your aiming default.
• Switch the reticle to Gun Specific. The default reticles are so tiny but at least with this it will change with depending on what gun you are using. The Uzi and AR's reticles are the perfect size when doing this.
• Know the difference between Shoot Dodge and Bullet Time. Shoot Dodge is activated by hitting the RB and enables you to dive through the air and twist and turn while diving so that you can cover 360 degrees. Bullet Time is activated by clicking the RS and slows down the game so that you can pull of kill shots while low on ammo. You will need to have your adrenaline meter filled partially to activate each one. When activated your adrenaline meter will drain. You can fill your adrenaline meter by getting kills.
• Look everywhere for Pain Pills. You will need these as there is no health re-gen.
• Use cover. This comes in very handy when you are out of Pain Pills. But be careful as sitting still for to long will cause the enemy to flank you and rush you.
• Fire your AR's and SMG's in bursts. Holding down the trigger will cause you to fire wildly.
• Only use the down the barrel aiming for mid range to long range combat. When in close quarters fire from the hip and use the Shoot Dodge mechanic.
• Burst fire when using dual wielding.

Multiplayer

• Burst fire when running or dual wielding.
• Save up your Adrenaline as much as possible. This will enable you to activate stronger more powerful versions of the Burst you have equipped.
• Get comfortable with dying.  It happens a lot. In Gang Wars its more about the objective then it is racking up kills.
• Loot dead bodies. When you are over a dead body you can hold down "B" to loot them. You can find Pain Pills, XP, Cash, extra Bullets, or extra Adrenaline.
• You can climb just about anything. Doing so can get you to some really good vantage points.
• When playing as Max or Passos in Payne Killer try to find your partner asap and stay together.
• Make sure to read the game objective on the screen before each round of Gang Wars.
• Use the Vendetta feature to earn extra cash and XP. When killed by the same player 2 times in a row you can hit initiate a Vendetta by pressing the "X" button. If eligible you will get prompted. The scum bag who has killed you twice in a row will show up on your screen and be marked with a red skull over their head. Hunt them down and kill them to earn your reward. But if they kill you then they get the reward.
• Join a Crew. Doing so will initiate in game rivalries. Example: Mikey and I were playing the other day and are in the same Crew(we have an SG Crew set up. If you want to join let me know) and the other team had two members from another Crew. As soon as Mikey or I killed one of these guys it started a rivalry meter just above the mini map on our screen. Each time we killed one of them out meter went up and vice versa. At the end of the round the Crew who's meter was filled more got some extra XP and a win in the rivalry column. Very cool feature to add just a little bit more to the game.
